Operations Manager

As a operations manager on our team you will be responsible for managing materials, ensuring adequate staff to each project, equipment maintenance is performed as needed, ensuring quality and efficiency on each site, safety for our customers and staff and meeting deadlines.  All applicants must take extreme pride in keeping company equipment damage free and clean inside and out, ensuring our customers and staff are properly cared for and willing to work on a schedule basis throughout the summer full time and as weather permits throughout the winter months. Those who apply must have minimum 3 years management experience and landscape experience.

Qualifications

  • WHMIS Training or willing to take the course.
  • Safe Communities Training or willing to take the course
  • AR Class Drivers License an asset
  • Extensive experience working with others
  • Capable Of Heavy Lifting (50lbs plus)
  • Clean criminal record

Landscape Construction Assistant

Landscape Construction Assistant (Intern) 52 week contract

Eligibility Requirement – NOHFC Indigenous Workforce Development Program

This position is proudly funded through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation’s (NOHFC) Indigenous Workforce Development Program. To be considered applicants MUST meet the eligibility requirements of the program, which include the following:

  •  Candidate for this position must identify as an indigenous person, including First Nation, Metis or Inuit.
  • Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field. 
  • Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship in the 2020 Mandate. 
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Once hired, the candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed

Contract: 52 weeks
Pay:
$25/hour

Expected Hours: 40 hours/week

Schedule: Monday to Thursday with the occasional Friday

Work Location: Sault Ste. Marie and area (In Person)

The position offers hands-on support in areas such as site preparation, landscape design implementation, equipment operation and the application of sustainable practices, all while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Landscape Construction Assistant, you will:

  • Assist in site preparation and plant installation, helping to transform outdoor spaces.
  • Support hardscaping tasks, including laying pavers, constructing retaining walls, and other structural elements.
  • Operate landscape maintenance equipment, ensuring efficient and safe equipment usage.
  • Help enforce safety protocols on-site, maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
  • Contribute to sustainable landscaping practices, promoting eco-friendly solutions in landscape construction.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
  • Assist in the upkeep of outdoor spaces to ensure project specifications are met, contributing to the final delivery of the landscape design.

Qualifications:

  • AR or DZ Driver’s License (mandatory)
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Clear Criminal Record
  • Experience in hardscaping or landscape construction is highly preferred
  • Passion for working outdoors and in landscape construction
  • Strong attention to detail, reliable and dependable with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from supervisor and fellow employees

Every Successful Company Is backed By Knowledgable, Educated and Experienced Staff. We are currently seeking a full-time experienced brick layer. Successful candidate must have a clean criminal record. Wages to be negotiated. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 2 year experience
  • Knowledge using grading tools and laser levels
  • Capable of working with complex paving stone patterns
  • Experience finding slopes and grades for drainage
  • Experience using concrete saws
  • AZ/AR Drivers License is an asset.
